Joseph Tame

Joseph Tame

Director, Co-Founder

Joseph Tame is a Director of Make It Creative, and CEO of Wild Tame Co., Ltd.

He is a digital media producer, project coordinator and performance artist based in Tokyo. Having established a media production company – Wild Tame Co. – Joseph has worked with many high profile organisations on a wide variety of creative projects. These range from video production to performance art; creativity workshops to social media campaigns, program development to prototype development.

His sports & tech projects have been featured on both national and international TV, and in international newspapers and magazines.

Miwo Tokuhara

Miwo Tokuhara

Director, Co-Founder

Miwo Amemiya is a Director of Make It Creative, Japan.

She is a creative designer, facilitator and planner. As a founding team member of IMPACT Japan, Miwo was instrumental in founding Japan’s leading lighthouse for entrepreneurship. Miwo is an active supporter of innovation, design and creativity.

With a varied background in web design, event planning and accountancy, Miwo has been the lead organizer for TEDxTokyo, coordinating partners, various operation teams and speakers to deliver high impact events. Her reputation as a community organizer was reinforced by the rapid growth of the TEDx community, which now embraces tens of thousands of like-minded individuals seeking change.

Darren Balcombe

Darren Balcombe

Director, Co-Founder

Darren Balcombe is a Director of Make It Creative, Japan. He works with clients in designing programmes to encourage, support and reward innovation. With a background in events management and innovation program design & delivery. Darren has spent the past 10 years supporting innovation and entrepreneurship.

Since joining NESTA in London in 2005, Darren has contributed to innovation and entrepreneurship projects across a breadth of industries. His work is focussed on strategic planning and communications, specifically program development & management; such as launching The Innovation Lab, organising the Silicon Valley Comes To The UK program and coordinating Global Entrepreneurship Week in Japan for the Kauffman Foundation.

Alvin Cheung

Alvin Cheung

Director, Co-Founder

Alvin is the co-founder and Director of Make It Creative, Japan. He designs the macro and micro user-experience of each engagement and facilitates the design process ensuring that a-ha moments are achieved. Alvin holds an MBA in Design Strategy from the California College of the Arts where Design Thinking is applied to Business and Service Design.

He has spent the past year prototyping innovation infrastructure with IMPACT Japan and exploring Japan’s nascent startup and digital fabrication community.
Previously, Alvin has helped startups in silicon valley design and develop better user-experiences, helped facilitate, design and lead vision workshops with clients such as the Grant Funders of America and the Danish Ministry of Education. He has also helped innovation firms such as Scansion and Collective Invention design and communicate their methodology.

Jun Yamada
Jun is a Senior Advisor at Qualcomm Japan, and previously served as chairman and president of QUALCOMM Japan, Inc. and ex-Senior Vice President of Qualcomm Inc.

Jun is a passionate supporter of entrepreneurship and innovation in Japan. A native of Fukushima, Jun is a actively engaged in projects supporting recovery in Tohoku.
